  1. (3.3)  Based on the three characterizing properties of the determinant show that

    1. (i)  if two columns of a matrix A are equal then det A = 0;

    2. (ii)  subtracting a multiple of one column from another column leaves the determi-

      nant unchanged.

    3. (iii)  Using the property of above show that the determinant of a triangular matrix

      equals the product of its diagonal elements, i.e. det A = a11a22 . . . ann.

i) ist die Lösung: We know that if B is obtained from A by exchangin two columns then det (A) = -det(B). If two colums of A are identical, then det (A) = - det (A) = det(A)) = 0

   2* det(A) = 0 also det(A) = 0

 und warum ist det (A) = - det (A) wenn zwei spalten identisch sind. und wo hängen diese zwei aussagen zusammen??

Für den Rest bräuchte man die " three characterizing properties of the determinant"
